A Taste of Happiness

As many of you know, before becoming an acupuncturist my background was in music. I don't get out as much as I used to, but I try to stay involved with truly quality projects where I can. My friend Lisa Richard's music is just such a project.
We're working on bringing a cd into the world.  For me, it is a labor of love and I wouldn't even remotely expect compensation for my part. I'm honored that Lisa, and her bass player husband Jeff May value me enough to press me into service.

To bring this project to fruition will, however, take money. Money that none of us neessarily have. Mostly we're doing it on the cheap, but when it comes to things like mixing and mastering we're gonna have to pay for quality. To fund this portion of the project, Lisa has set up a kickstarter page where you - yes you - can make your contribution as a patron of the arts...

Just go here, open your wallets and your hearts, and enjoy the rewards of your participation.

How Getting Poked Can Change The World

Here's a great article from Canada about one of our fellow Community Acupuncture Clinics:

So a patient walks into a community acupuncture clinic...

...and they are the only one there. "Oh, I've come at a good time," they say.

Well, actually, no.

This is something that's come up here and there over the years, and a couple of times recently...and something that certainly merits addressing.

The bottom line is this: If you are pleased because you've got the community acupuncture clinic to yourself, you are sadly missing the point. Community acupuncture is truly a people powered endeavor, requiring community support and high volumes of patients to be viable. It is not simply about charging less for treatments. Far from it...

So, if you come in, and it's slow...please, do what you can to change that. Tell the world.

We're going to be 5 at the end of this year. I'd like to still be around in another five years.
